ANNA BERGEN
NORWAY- Anna Svaizer Bergen age 92 of Norway, died Friday, January 8, 2009 at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain, MI.
She was born in Norway on April 1, 1917, the daughter of the late Roberto and Barbara Sandri.
Anna married Bortolo Svaizer, he preceded her in death on August 15, 1976.
She married Frank Bergen on March 18, 1978 at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1987.
Anna worked for Quality Cleaners in Norway and then Twin City Cleaners in Kingsford, for many years and retired in 1979.
She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.
Enjoyed crocheting, knitting and ceramics.
Anna is survived by her step-daughters Marie Peters of Norway, Shirley (John) Pohlson of Norway and Jean (Daniel) Kirkish of Houghton; nieces Gloria (Douglas, Sr.) Sleik and Joan Peters of Iron Mountain; and god-daughter Judy (Richard) Goar of Duluth, MN.
She was preceded in death by her step-son Frank Bergen, Jr.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 12 at 1 p.m. at Norway Township Cemetery with Fr. James Roetzer, presiding.
