BERNICE SALA
NORWAY- Bernice S. Sala age 98 of Norway, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Dickinson Co. Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI.
She was born in Norway on October 16, 1911 the daughter of the late Phil and Mary (Possi) Sala.
Bernice was a long time member and organist at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan for over 60 years and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Lucille Sala; one nephew; four nieces; other relatives and friends.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Dr. Joseph Sala and Dr. Walter Sala and his wife Maxine; and her niece Diane Sala-Jones.
Bernice’s family would like to thank all the staff members of Maryhill Manor for all their loving care.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Barbara Church in Vulcan.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara Church with Fr. James Roetzer, presiding.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bernice’s name to the St. Barbara’s Choir.
