KERMIT D. RASMUSSEN

NORWAY- Kermit D. Rasmussen age 95 of Norway, died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI.

He was born in Iron Mountain on March 17, 1914 the son of the late Brent and Bessie (Hassel) Rasmussen.

Kermit graduated from Norway High School in 1932.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Kermit worked for Jacobsen Pharmacy for many years, then worked at Norway Gravure, retiring in 1979. He sold Watkins Products part-time for 30 years.
Kermit was a member of the Norway City Band, Iron Mountain City Band and played trumpet in the local band “The Playboys”.

Member of the Hall-DeWinter Post #145, American Legion and the Norvulet Post #4581, V.F.W.

He enjoyed cutting grass and shoveling snow for the elderly people in the community.

Kermit is survived by his wife Lorraine; sons Donald (Joanne) Rasmussen of Fort Wayne, IN and Paul (Diane) Rasmussen of Iron Mountain; grandchildren Ronalee, Hannah, Amanda, Micah and granddog Andy; very special Cousin Marie Jacobsen of Escanaba.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18 from 1-3 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, at 3 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael J. Langlais, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church in Norway, officiating.

Interment will be held on Friday, at 8 a.m. at the Norway Township Cemetery.
