MARIE LORENZONI

VULCAN- Marie F. Lorenzoni age 88 of Vulcan, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, WI. after a year long battle with cancer.

She was born on May 19, 1921 in Vulcan, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Masty) Baranski.

Marie graduated from Vulcan High School in 1940.

She worked in Chicago for 10 years before returning to Vulcan and marrying Wallace Lorenzoni on August 12, 1950 in St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1996.

After raising her family, Marie worked in the office at Anderson Memorial Hospital in Norway for many years before retiring in 1979.

Marie was a faithful life-long member of St. Barbara Catholic Church.

Marie loved the outdoors, always doing yard work or some kind of house maintenance. She enjoyed going to camp, going to the cottage, gardening, watching the cardinals that came to her numerous bird feeders, and crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Linda and Gary DuFresne of Iron Mountain, Sandra and David Grosvenor of Crystal Falls and Ralph and Patty Lorenzoni of Norway; grandchildren Rebecca and Nathan Boravich, Andrew and Stephanie Grosvenor, Paul DuFresne, Eric Grosvenor, Emily and Paul Weber, John Grosvenor, Glenn, Neil and Anthony Lorenzoni; step-grandchildren Nick (fiancé’ Bridget Bartol) Naser, Neil (Faye) Naser and Nevin (April) Naser; great grandchildren Derek Rosatti, Eleanor Grosvenor, Noah and Evelyn Weber and Bradley Boravich; step-great grandchildren Samantha, Austin, Alex, Trenton, Clayton and Landon; sister Pauline Craig; sisters-in-law Rose Wenzel, Margaret Lorenzoni, Violet Lorenzoni, Lorraine Scott, Shirley Manincor, Lois (Anthony) Stuppnig; and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by brother Thadeus Baranski; sister Elizabeth Kovach; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19 from 9-11 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church with Fr. James Roetzer, presiding.

Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Oncology staff at the Newburg Clinic and the staff at Maryhill Manor. You are truly “angels in comfortable shoes”. Your kindness and support are much appreciated and will never be forgotten.
