VIOLET LORENZONI

VULCAN- Violet E. Lorenzoni age 86 of Vulcan, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, MI

She was born on February 13, 1925 in Iron River, the daughter of the late Secondo and Yolanda (Bianchi) Giovanelli.

Violet graduated from Vulcan High School in 1942.

She worked as a secretary at Fort Sheridan in Chicago, during World War II.

Violet married Leslie Lorenzoni on November 30, 1946 in St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1977.

She was a cook for the Vulcan Schools until she was 66 years old, retiring in 1991.

Violet enjoyed playing cards, cooking for everyone, even all the people on the casino bus and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons Louis (Deb) Lorenzoni of Vulcan and Robert (Lisa) Lorenzoni of Marinette; daughter Janice (Robert) Giannunzio of Vulcan; grandchildren Jon (Liz) Lorenzoni of Kingsford, Leslie (Mindi) Lorenzoni of Norway, Andrew (Audra) Lorenzoni of Nebraska, Tori (Ben Bailey) Lorenzoni of Virginia, Lewis Lorenzoni of Crystal Falls, and Mark Giannunzio of Manistique; 9 great grandchildren; brothers Louis (Judy) Orler of Quinnesec and Francis Orler of Iron Mountain; sisters-in-law Shirley Manicor of Vulcan, Lois Stupnig of Menominee and Lorraine Scott of West Palm Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother Peter Orler.

Family will greet friends on Thursday, April 7 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan, with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis, presiding.

Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
