JEAN TAVERNINI
NORWAY – Jean Barbara Tavernini age 85 of Norway died February 9, 2012 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara WI.
Jean was born on December 13, 1926 in Vulcan the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Calliari) Pellegrini.
She was a 1945 graduate of Vulcan High School.
Jean married Joseph Tavernini on September 24, 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.
Jean was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella.
Jean also enjoyed volunteering at Holy Spirit School and the VA Hospital.
She is survived by her husband Joseph, daughters, Barbara Tavernini of Hamilton Lakes and Ann Tavernini of Milwaukee WI; brother Joseph (Helen) Pellegrini of Norway; sisters- in-law Margaret Pellegrini Norway and Elaine (Tavernini) Larson of Iron Mountain; brother-in-law Nicholas Shadid of Tigeras, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Reginald (Reggie) Pellegrini, sister-in-law LaVerne Shadid and brother-in-law Ronald Larson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12 from 4-7 p.m. at Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
Parish Prayers will be held on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis, presiding.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
