CLARENCE VIVIO NORWAY- Clarence J. Vivio age 78 of Norway permanently closed up his shop to join his wife Rita on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Dickinson Co. Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI; with his family by his side. He was born on July 21, 1933 in Norway, the son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Giuliani) Vivio, Sr. Clarence was a loving husband and friend to his wife of 55 years Rita Harvey, whom he married on December 29, 1951 in St. Barbara's Church in Vulcan, she preceded him in death on May 31, 2007. He loved working and running his shop Vivio’s Small Engine Repair in Norway, he taught Adult Education in small engine repair through Norway Community Schools right from his garage. Clarence loved animals, watching the birds, working with horses, judging them or pulling them. He kept very busy working at camp building a pond or gardening. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norway and Loyal order of Moose, #1474. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Clarence is survived by his son Rick and his children Carrie (Shawn) Thill, Jacob (Amy) Vivio and their children Riley and Gage ; son Ronald (Kathleen) and their sons Luke and Kyle Vivio; son David and his children Heather (Peter) Burby and David (Erika) and their son Ethan; son Mark (LaVern) and their children Jeremiah (Erica) , Caleb, Jedidiah and Elijah Vivio; daughter Pam (Jon) Schwamlien and their children Michael, Libby (Jake Stachowicz), Cody and Levi Schwamlien, Jeremy Giancola and his children Jared, Brooke Giancola, Kristen (Matt) Reath and their children Toby, Kurtis and Kennedy; brothers Ernest (Dolly) Vivio, Kenneth Vivio and Donald (Catherine) Vivio; daughters-in-law Ann Marie Columbo and Cindy Vivio; many special friends; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Bill Harvey; sister-in-law Shirley (Bill) Gendron; and his special dog “Marlee” He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Walter Vivio, Jr. and sister Irene Verberg. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4 from 4-8 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 5 from 9-12 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home. Prayers will be on Saturday, May 5 at 12 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis, presiding. Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
