CLEMENTINE JOHNSON NORWAY- Clementine “Clem” Johnson age 92 of Norway died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Dickinson Co. Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain, MI. She was born on December 19, 1913 in Norway the daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Heyndrickx) Gyselinck. Clem graduated from Norway High School in 1932 She married Leonard Trudeau on June 14, 1941, he preceded her in death in 1946. Clem married Arne B. Johnson on December 22, 1970, he preceded her in death in 1985. She worked as the Secretary at the Norway-Vulcan Schools for 32 years, retiring in 1970. Clem enjoyed sewing and playing cards, especially with her friends Leona Zadra and Rosemary Van Peymbrock, and spending time with family and friends. She is a member of St. Mary's Church in Norway, Daughters of Isabella, St. Mary's Altar Society, Legion of Mary, Ministry of Praise, Norway-Vulcan Women’s Club, Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, A.A.R.P., Norway-Vulcan Senior Center, VASA Order of America Dist. #10, Swedish American Fraternal Organization and life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Cloverland Chapter #23. Clem is survived by her daughter Marie “Ginger” Seat; sons Leonard and wife Arlene Trudeau and James and wife Mary Trudeau all of Norway; nephews George and wife Kathy Zanon and Charles and wife Gail Zanon of Norway whom she raised; grandchildren Kevin and RaeAnne Seat, Steven Seat, Shelly and Tom Chouinard, Joe and Jenny Trudeau, Jon and Angie Trudeau, Janelle and Randy Powers, Chris and Bill Romps and Al and Renee Trudeau; 12 great grandchildren; special niece and caregiver Shirley and Art Viens of Kingsford; niece Pat and Herb Jauquet of Kingsford; nephew Charles and Nancy Gyselinck of Vulcan. She was preceded in death by her brothers August “Bear” Gyselinck and Henry and wife Lillian Gyselinck and her sister Leona and husband Jack Zanon. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Miner-Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Norway, with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. Interment will be at the Norway Township Cemetery.
