Herman W. Morosini

HERMAN MOROSINI NORWAY- Herman W. Morosini age 94 of Norway died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at ManorCare in Kingsford, MI. He was born on May 14, 1914 in Norway, the son of the late Fortunato and Divena (Greenleaf) Morosini. Herman graduated from Norway High School in 1932. He married Julian Sebrechts on September 2, 1939 at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan. Herman was a member of St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, gardening, watching baseball and football games, especially his great nephew Jason Varitek who plays catcher for the Boston Red Sox, watching the Chicago Cubs, and the Packers. He also enjoyed playing “Free-Cell” Solitaire on his computer and being “Mr. Fix it”. Herman owned and operated the Standard Oil Gas Station on old U.S. 2; he then worked at Anderson Motors in Norway. He started working as an auto mechanic at the Vulcan Garage and driving school bus in Vulcan, and at the Rambler Garage in Iron Mountain for Al Masty, retiring in 1979. He is survived by his wife Julian; daughters Marion Cologna of Kenosha, WI and Shirley (Ronald) DeBernardi of Norway; son Herman H. (Ann) Morosini of Watertown, NY; grandchildren Jean (Larry) O’Dette of Quinnesec, Lori (Phil) Turri of Loretto, Brian (Tasha) DeBernardi of Norway, Dianne (Greg) Jones of Kenosha, WI, Jeff (Romi) Cologna of Bloomingdale, IL, Angela and Beth Morosini of New York; great grandchildren Ryan and Jaimee O’Dette, Jennifer, Alix and Toni Turri, Lindsey and Dallas DeBernardi, Kenny Cologna, Ashley, Alyssa and Ryan Murray and Katie Jones; sister Viola Heydens DeBen of Bark River; sister-in-law Rose (Arthur) Morosini of Caseville, MI; several nieces and nephews; special friends Mike and Marion Bubloni. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Nick Heydens, great grandson Tony DeBernardi, son-in-law Larry Cologna, brother Arthur Morosini, and brother-in-law Paul DeBen. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Church with Fr. James Roetzer presiding. Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
