Jean S. Stropich

JEAN STROPICH NORWAY- Jean S. Stropich age 54 of Norway, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 6, 2012. She was born on February 22, 1958 in Escanaba, the twin daughter of Lawrence and Shirley (MaKosky) Beauchamp. Jean attended school in Flat Rock and graduated from Gladstone High School class of 1976. She married Tony Stropich on July 1, 1989 at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba. They moved to Appleton, WI and lived there for 16 years, and decided to move to Norway to be closer to family and friends. Jean was employed at Northwood Nursing Home Annex for 12 years. While in Appleton, Jean worked for Mary’s Family Restaurant and Home Depot, then after their move to Norway, she worked for Home Depot in Iron Mountain, Family Dollar and Ebelings in Norway and at Craig’s Corner Market in Loretto. In 2011 she started working for Beck’s Lawn Care in Norway. Jean had her CDL license and a degree in computer operations. Her husband and children were the joy and light of her life. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, having bon fires, watching the birds at their bird feeders, having family dinners, hearing about her husband's and children’s day, craft shows, taking rides to see wildlife and nature's scenery and socializing with others, also was a founding member of the Escanaba Jaycees for six years. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Jean is survived by her husband Tony; daughter Jena (Travis Danielczak) Stropich of Norway; son Vince Stropich of Norway; father Lawrence Beauchamp, Jr. of Escanaba; sisters Ellen (Donald) Nickell of Hyde, her twin Joan (Jim) Kroll of Escanaba, and Sara (Joseph Kelly) Beauchamp of Daggett; father-in-law Robert Stropich of Rapid River; sister-in-law Lori (Steve) Miller of Escanaba; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; a special pet Pudge. She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Beauchamp; sister Cindy Beauchamp; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and mother-in-law Mary Stropich. Family will greet friends on Friday, April 20 from 10-12 p.m. at Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. A memorial service will be held on Friday, at 12 p.m. at Ortman Funeral Home with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis presiding.
