Theodora Lovato

THEODORA LOVATO NORWAY- Theodora “Dora” Lovato age 85 of Norway died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, MI. She was born in Crystal Falls, on March 13, 1922 the daughter of the late Joseph and Theodelinda (Zaupa) Cazzola. Dora married William Lovato on October 11, 1941 in Loretto, Michigan. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1998. Graduated from Grant Hospital Nursing School in 1943, worked as a LPN at the Grant Hospital in Chicago and at Dickinson Co. Memorial Hospital in the OB Ward for many years. Retired in 1967 after working as a cook at the Norway High School for 18 years. Own and operated a bar for two years and also used to cater, and decorate cakes. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, Norvulet Post #4581, V.F.W. Auxiliary, and Women of the Moose #1474. Dora loved to cook or bake and liked to be around other people. She used to knit, crochet and make rugs, enjoyed listening to big band music. Dora is survived by her sons John (Darlene) Lovato of Iron Mountain and Edward Lovato of Iron Mountain; daughter Linda (Paul) Monette of Stephenson; grandchildren Scott (Jody) Monette, Todd (Kristen) Monette, Jennifer Foley, John (Wendy) Lovato, Jr., Stephanie (Zack) Stevens and Tammy Lynn (Roger) Hendrickson; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Raymond (Anna) Cazzola of Vulcan, Louis Cazzola of Chicago, IL, Robert Cazzola of Waucedah Twp, and Alfred Cazzola of Waucedah Twp.; sisters Celia Tojza of Chicago, IL, Norma Gates of Kalamazoo, and Bruna Norman of Milwaukee, WI; sisters-in-law Anna Cazzola of Norway and Patricia Cazzola of Norway; brother-in-law Leslie Lovato of Norway; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Olinto, Joseph, Gino and Severino Cazzola. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Miner-Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. Prayers will be held on Saturday 10:30 a.m. at the Miner-Ortman Funeral Home The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with Fr. James Roetzer presiding. Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
