Aurelia Jansen Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

AURELIA JANSEN NORWAY-Aurelia Jansen age 98 of Norway, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Manorcare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford, MI. She was born on November 17, 1913 in Norway the daughter of the late John and Sylvia (Casanova) Guiliani. Aurelia married George Jansen on May 4, 1940 at St. Mary’s Church in Norway, he preceded her in death on October 28, 1995. Aurelia graduated from Norway High School in 1931 and following graduation worked on a farm cooking and cleaning for boarders and later at Norway Co-op Store. She retired from Norway Schools as a custodian. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. Aurelia enjoyed baking and cooking with a special talent in Italian cuisine and a gift of making delicious pies. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making crafts and painting. She loved watching all sports especially the Green Bay Packers. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Aurelia is survived by her son William “Bill” Jansen of Kingsford; daughters Shirley Clarke and Betty (Wayne) Phillips of Iron Mountain; grandchildren Cathy (Craig) Anderson of Geneva, IL, Robert (Elizabeth) Clarke of Lynchburg, VA, Steven (Tanya) Phillips of Iron Mountain, Paul (Melissa) Phillips of Marion, IA and Mark Phillips of Dyersville, IA; great grandchildren Ryan and Eric Anderson, Emma and Aaron Clarke, Brennan, Allyse and Aubrey Phillips, Joseph and Anna Phillips; sister-in-law Judith Jansen; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Batista and Rudolph Guiliani; sisters Mary Driedric, Lena DeBakker and Louise Ozzelo; special son-in-law C. Robert Clarke. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11 from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Norway. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with Fr. Ben Hasse, presiding. Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
