Beverly Rae Ann King

NORWAY- Beverly Rae Ann King age 89 of Norway, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 25, 2019 at Evergreen Meadows in Norway, MI. She was born on September 16, 1929 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Lavern and Anna (Brandt) King and granddaughter of Menominee County pioneer Albert Brandt. Beverly graduated from Norway High School in 1947, and received an associate degree from U.W. Marinette Wisconsin and went on to attend U.W. Green Bay, taking night classes and working for many years in Menominee, MI. She was a long-term volunteer at the DCHS, sang for many years in the church choir at St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan and played organ there. Her musical background included playing violin, which she learned when she was in her 70’s, with the Singing Strings gospel orchestra for nearly 10 years, entertaining at many churches, senior centers, nursing homes and other local functions. Beverly loved nature of all kinds, wild animals and stray animals would always find some type of foods at Beverly’s farm. She loved gardening and her yard was filled with flowers of all kinds. She was a member of St. Barbara’s Church and the Third Order Carmelite Order. Beverly is survived by special friends Nina Strand, Jim and Kelly Ballone and Ann Kelly. Her favorite quotation was from Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar, where the general is addressing his troops before battle and says: “We know not what today may bring, but it will end. If we meet again tomorrow, we shall smile, if not, this parting has been well made.” Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
