Darlene Olson

NORWAY- Darlene Olson age 69, of Norway, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain. She was born on October 16, 1952, in Norway, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Sandy Olson. Darlene was a special person with special needs. She attended the Awana program for special needs adults and enjoyed her time there. Jesus Loves Me was one her favorite songs. She loved to sort and organize playing cards and was always excited to receive a brand-new deck. She enjoyed frequent visits from her sister to play cards and games. She also enjoyed getting out and about for car rides and seeing people around town. Darlene was well loved by her family, especially her nephew and niece. The time spent being silly and having fun with them as children will always be cherished. She will be remembered always for her laughs and sense of humor. Darlene brought joy to many people and is now living joyfully with her Savior. The family wishes to thank Melody Beres, one of Darlene’s caregivers for 19 years, and also the staff of Belgium Pointe for the excellent care and love provided to Darlene throughout her life. She is survived by her twin brother, Daniel Olson, sisters, Rachael (Kim) Forsberg, Grace Olson, sister-in-law Claudia Olson; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Sandy Olson, and a brother, Barry Olson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7 from 4-6 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Wilson officiating. Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
