Edna L. LaFaive

August 29, 1921 - January 14, 2011

EDNA LaFAIVE NORWAY- Edna Lorraine LaFaive age 89 of Norway, went home peacefully to our Lord Jesus on January 14, 2011 while residing at Pine Crest Medical Care Facility in Powers, MI. She was welcomed to her heavenly home by her beloved Charlie and granddaughters Denise Marie LaFaive, Deanna Lynn Sundstrom and new born grandson Dennis C. LaFaive. Born Edna Larson on August 29, 1921 to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Seitz) Larson in Quinnesec. Edna graduated From Quinnesec High School. She married her sweetheart Charles LaFaive on Oct. 19, 1941. Edna was a hard worker with her husband as Standard Oil Agents. She developed the Keep Fill System to keep customers from running out of home fuel. Many customers were thankful of her kindness. With all the work she had to do, she found time to volunteer with the church by cleaning of the priests vestments. She also was very involved in cub scouts when her son Dennis was a boy. She scored high with her Dart ball team. Her community involvement was with Norway-Vulcan Women’s Club where she served as secretary. Religious involvements were Legion of Mary, Altar Society and teaching CCD. After retirement she and Charlie took many trips with Moore Fun tours. The highlight being the Rose Bowl. Edna loved football the Green Bay Packers were her favorite. She attended many games with Charlie and Dennis. But in later years enjoyed them on TV. She loved baking cookies for her grandkids and their spouses, especially her famous molasses cookie. She will be sadly missed by her family, son Dennis, daughter-in-law Mary, granddaughters Deborah Sue King (Bob), Donna and Randy Wagner and great grandchildren Emily and Josh Bell, Sara and Courtney Wagner of the Norway and Iron Mountain area. Grandson Jim Sundstrom and great granddaughters Gerilee and Mia Sundstrom of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Edna has one remaining sister Betty Neldberg that was at her side thru all the years of ups and downs. Especially the eight years since Edna was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Robert Larson, and Harlan Larson. Additional relatives who preceded her were Fred and Ida LaFaive, Ann and Arnold Johnson, Rose and Bill Morosini, Clarence LaFaive and brother-in-law Ronald Neldberg. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, from 4-8 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. Prayers will be held on Friday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis, presiding. Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
