Harriett J. Bitters Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

HARRIETT BITTERS NORWAY- Harriett J. Bitters age 70 of L'Anse, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Baraga Co. Memorial Hospital in L’Anse, MI, after a lengthy illness. She was born August 22, 1943 in Escanaba, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Muther) Bitters. Harriet was a fighter. No matter how she felt, she always had a smile on her face and said,,"I'm fine!" She loved all her friends at Bayside, all the activities, especially Bingo, and even when she was didn't feel up to playing, she would sit in her room and watch tv and talk to everyone that passed her door. She had pet names for them all. Harriet is survived by her Guardian, Peggy Vervisch and her family and friends who were always praying for Harriet, Emil (Jr) Bast and many other friends, (including the caregivers), at Bayside, as well as Shirley Younggren and Candy Kannianen and all that took care of her at the rest home. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Frank Bitters. Also her Dear Friend Virginia Penokie, who went to be with the Lord one day earlier! A Memorial Service for Harriet will be held on Thursday, May 1 at 2 p.m. (EST) at Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington, followed by a light lunch. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 12:30 p.m. (CST) at Quinnesec Cemetery in Quinnesec.
