JOHN BUNT VULCAN- John “Chickie” Bunt age 71 of Vulcan, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at Dickinson Co. Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. He was born on May 13, 1940 in Norway, the son of Lettie Luceile (Eller) and the late Robert Clarence Bunt. John graduated from Kingsford High School in 1958. He married Patricia Pipp on September 9, 1961 in Vulcan, MI. John was a brick layer and built many structures in our area, he was an officer in the B.A.C. Local out of Marquette. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid sports fan watching the Packers, Tigers, and Red Wings, but what he enjoyed the most was watching his grandchildren play sports. John is survived by his wife of 50 years Patricia; daughters Lisa (Steven) Podner of Goodman, WI, Laura (Jesse) Savoie of Appleton, WI and Sandy (Chris) Stieg of Norway; grandchildren Michael and Jennifer Podner, Noah, Isaiah and Joel Savoie, Samantha (Silas) Frater and Ethan Stieg; sister Nancy (Jimmy) LaVoie of Palmer, AK; brother-in-law William “Butch” (Vicki) Pipp of Vulcan; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Yvonne Bunt. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Ortman Funeral Home, with Pastor Irene White of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
