LaVerne Alice Laesch

April 17, 1924 - August 12, 2016

VULCAN- LaVerne A. Laesch age 92 of Vulcan, died Friday, August 12, 2016 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, MI. She was born on April 17, 1924 in Faithorn, the daughter of the late Alfred and Alice (Arnold) Meiner. LaVerne graduated from Hermansville High School. She married Edward Laesch on September 29, 1945 in Grace United Methodist Church in Faithorn. LaVerne was a hard worker on the family farm and for Kimberly Clark, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir and former member of the Norway Chapter #251, Order of the Eastern Star. LaVerne loved to garden, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Edward; daughter Linda (Wayne) Rochon of Vulcan; son Dale Laesch of Vulcan; grandchildren Catherine Rochon of Norway, Cynthia Dunlap of Wyoming, MI, Cheryl Rochon of Powers and Marc Rochon of McAllen, TX; great grandchildren Andrew and Melanie Kurth, Caleb Stachowicz, Parker and Gabriella Dunlap; brother Ralph (Marge) Meiner of Norway; sister Eleanor LeBoeuf of Powers; sister-in-law Patricia Meiner of Powers; many nieces and nephews. LaVerne was preceded in death by her brother Harold Meiner and sisters Evelyn Meiner and Dorothy Robinson. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15 from 11-1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Norway. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Michael J. Langlais officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Faithorn.
