RAYMOND CAZZOLA LORETTO- Raymond Louis “Red”/”Russo” Cazzola age 88 of Loretto passed peacefully Monday, October 6, 2008 at the home of his son Roger and Rochelle, who lovingly took care of him. He was born on July 2, 1920 in Crystal Falls, the son of the late Joseph and Theodelinda (Zaupa) Cazzola. His family tree origin Venice, Italy. A very large family. Ray married Ann Marie Bubaloni on December 30, 1949 in Vulcan. Residing in (Red Town) Vulcan, until his accident in December 2007, resulting with severe frostbite. Just about everyone knew Red, how he lived and loved this life to the fullest, never one to waste anything. Whether it is a sunrise, the birds, family, or friends. Red cherished each moment. Russo’s parents purchased the Bridges Dairy Farm on Waucedah Road, when he was 12 years old. He continued helping as much as he could throughout the years. Working with his mother’s brother from Milwaukee throughout Wisconsin laying Terrazzo floors in Public buildings. Working as a lumberjack with the Chiocchi’s and Girards. A Teamster while at Lodal, and traveling out-of-town for construction. Never officially retired, as working various other jobs well into his 80’s. Red was a jack-of-all-trades. Always lending a helping hand to whoever needed help. He would do the jobs no one else would do, his motto “Get it done”. Russo enjoyed going up to the family farm to grow vegetables and flowers. Sharing his harvest with all. Hunting, fishing and cutting firewood with his family and friends. Red and his blazer put on a lot of miles, on his daily adventures, stopping at the Rialto and Northstar for coffee royals, visiting the boys. Helping his children with their various projects, and helping with the grandchildren who knew him as “Papa Red”. He had the strength of a bull and could bellow like one, he was also as gentle as a lamb. Red was referred to as a “Tough Old Bird”, yet young at heart. Raymond is survived by his lifelong companion Ann of Vulcan; sons Roger (“Rocky”) Cazzola, Gerald (Patti) Cazzola, Tony (Char) Cazzola; daughters Christine “Cookie” Cazzola and Dorothy (Tracy) Engles; grandchildren 1st Lt. Trinity Cazzola, Robyn (Abe) Murray, Marissa, Nikki (Joe) Upton; Amber (Ryan) Dwight, Edward (Tiffany) Mierzejewski, Thomas (Ashley) Humblet; Kelly (John) Olson, Tiffany, Melvin and Hugh Engles, Glenda, Tim, Robby and Allen; great grandchildren Peyton, Macee, Josh, Jacob, Eastyn, Austyn, Kiara, Kody, Tylar, Kadence, Misty, Anthony; his beloved puppy Babes and all the other animals/birds he raised. He is survived by his brothers Robert and Alfred Cazzola of Foster City and Louie Cazzola of Chicago; sisters Cecilia Tojza of Chicago, Norma Gates of Kalamazoo and Bruna Norman of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law Anna Cazzola and Patsy Cazzola of Norway, Marian Bubaloni of Chicago; brother-in-law Arthur (Rose) Bubaloni; numerous nieces and nephews. A few of his numerous friendships with the Deyaerts, Hupp, Kuczek, Jacklovitz’s, Kimichik, Girards, Ed and Betty Root, Ferri, Sandy Thomson and Jeanie Spigeralli. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Linda Cazzola; in-laws John and Doris Bubaloni; sister Dora Lovato; brothers Olinto, Joseph, Severino “Sarr”, and Gino Cazzola; granddaughter Shannon Cazzola, brothers-in-law Roman Tojza, Kenneth Gates, Irving Norman, William Lovato and Johnny Bubaloni. So if you hear a lot of noise from heaven, you know it’s Red moving around. This Bud’s for you Redbird! Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9 from 4-7 p.m. at the Miner-Ortman Funeral Home in Norway. Prayers will be held on Friday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Miner-Ortman Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Barbara's Church with Fr. James Roetzer, presiding.
