Victor Fochesato

April 5, 1931 - June 19, 2005

VICTOR FOCHESATO NORWAY- Victor F. Fochesato age 74 of Norway, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at his home in Norway, surrounded by his loving wife and four sons. He was born on April 5, 1931 in Hermansville, the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Dani) Fochesato. Victor married Dorothy Gargulak on June 14, 1958 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Rice Lake, WI. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he was an usher and Eucharistic minister for many years. Also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1474, and a lifelong member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. Victor retired from the Norway-Vulcan School System. Throughout his career Victor had 33 years of Teaching Biology and coaching Basketball, Track and Cross-Country. He enjoyed all sports. During his High School years he played basketball and ran track, being an outstanding 100-yard dash sprinter. He went on to play football and ran track at Northern Michigan University. Victor played Bocce in the Dickinson Co. Bocce League for a number of years. In addition, he loved to play pinochle. Victor and his wife Dorothy enjoyed walking the Norway trails everyday and many casino trips with close friends. When Victor’s boys were young, he enjoyed taking the family on camping and fishing trips. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, wintering in Arizona and visiting his sons and other family in Italy and New York. Victor is survived by his wife Dorothy; four sons John Fochesato of Madison, WI., Paul (Jill) Fochesato of Burleson, TX., Dr. Peter (Tamera) Fochesato of Arlington, WA., and Joseph (Jean) Fochesato of Holly; eight grandchildren Tara, Aaron, Will, Conner, Chloe, Anna, Vince and Chad; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Virginia Brugger and Julia Fochesato and brother Reno Fochesato. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Parish Hall in Norway. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. Interment will be held at the Meyer Township Cemetery. Arrangements have been made with the Miner-Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
